Pilot fobs often carry a power-tailgate button and, on upper trims, remote start. Both are extra switches on one coin cell. Families with a Pilot and an Odyssey sometimes swap fobs on the counter and expect them to match. The cell often matches. The shell may not. Open the Pilot fob you drive, not the van’s fob.
The third-generation shell and the 2023-on shell are different shapes with the same CR2032. Twist a coin only in the emergency-key notch. These fobs are large and feel sturdy, which tempts a screwdriver. The hooks inside are still thin.
