Editorial policy

Guides are updated when a shell, a model year, or a battery code needs a correction. The date on the article is the publication date. We would rather leave a year unpublished than copy one Civic page onto the next year and change the digits.

What we will not do

  • We do not invent technician biographies or claim a shop we do not operate.
  • We do not publish a battery size we have not tied to a shell type, and we tell you to confirm the stamp.
  • We do not use affiliate links. Brand names are examples of ordinary lithium cells, not paid placements.
  • We do not recommend rechargeable coin cells, bigger cells “that almost fit,” or programming steps for a job that is only a battery.

Corrections

If a shell on your car does not match the page, trust the cell in your hand and tell us through the contact form. A replacement fob, a different market, or a base trim with a turn-key ignition can legitimately disagree with the common smart-key answer.
